PHC LLC, located in Long Branch, NJ, founded by Bob Lewis.

Like so many young students Bob's first career choice didn't end up being his last. As a high school sophomore in 1984 his plan was to be a professional athlete, racing motocross. Unfortunately in March of that year he suffered an injury which made athletics impractical and left him reevaluating what to do for a living. After graduating from Brick Memorial High School in Brick, NJ (June 1986) and still unsure what to do Bob attended Ocean County College and took an elective course in photography with professor DR. Howard Ungar. This was the beginning of a new direction for him. Through his childhood and adolescence Bob was a self described "techi" and "motorhead" whose artistic endeavors had been limited to model building. Although the photography didn't replace his love of racing and mechanical things it did interest him and developed into a new passion.

After studying in the Imaging and Photographic Technology program at RIT from 1986 to 1989, Bob was unable to continue due to financial difficulties and moved back to NJ. Still interested in racing and working on race cars as a hobby it seemed logical to look for work in this area so Bob went off to Allentown Pa. and attended the Welder Training and Testing Institute. For the next few years he worked as a TIG welder on stainless steel and aluminum. During this time he made a living and some connections which enabled him to realize one of his dreams of owning and racing a NASCAR type modified stock car. He also learned a few lessons during this time: 1, He loved racing and had the potential to be very good at it. 2, Racing required a ton of money, labor and time and without the right conditions the difficulties would be overwhelming. 3, Due to his old injuries Bob was limited to doing "bench work" welding jobs and therefore his opportunities to make a good living were very limited.

Time for another change.
Bob sold his race car and again enrolled at OCC, this time in the computer science department and earned an AS degree. Upon completion of his degree he was hired as an intern at AT&T, Middletown, NJ and seemed well on his way in the computer science field. Then in 2001 the decline of AT&T, Lucent and the technology sector in general came upon us and Bob along with many veterans was laid off. Shortly after that he became ill with osteomyelitis in his spine and underwent eighteen months of operations and treatment. While recuperating, Bob decided to utilize his interest, education and the changing times by getting into computerized (digital) photography, web design and page layout for print work. He took some courses and began studying the Adobe design software. Since then Bob has been shooting and studying a lot. Early in 2006 he learned that the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation had an avenue where they were able to supply him with new equipment that he needed to be competitive in graphic design and digital photography. That lead to the birth of PHC LLC and Bob's new career as a business owner, website designer and graphic designer and photographer.
